Message from Dean Muscat
Welcome to the Fall 2023 semester! In the library, we are excited to have the buzz of students and faculty in our building once again. A few library highlights that we hope you will note:
- Our web presence is updated and aligned with the university websites.
- Our 2nd Library Open House will be on September 14 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Ellipse Gallery for our community to discover how the library can guide them this year.
- Outreach and expansion of our materials for Asian American Studies.
We hope that this year will be one in which our campus and larger community learn more about the great work underway within the Library. We hope to increase library patronage by expanding our collections and hosting more events. And most of all, we want the Library to continue to be the heart of the campus – a welcoming destination for all!
Bernadette T. Muscat, Ph. D.
Interim Dean of Library Services

New hands-on STEM materials in the Teacher Resource Center
The Teacher Resource Center added several new items of interest for STEM educators this year. Based on feedback, we focused on purchasing kits large enough for whole-class instruction. Each kit on this list is designed for teachers who want to integrate STEM opportunities with an entire class. The items can be viewed here. If you have any questions about items or would like more information, please contact Matt Doyle, mdoyle@csufresno.edu.
Updated Library Website
New look, same great services! Our Fresno State library website (library.fresnostate.edu) is now aligned with our campus website’s look and feel. You will l find your favorite services, spaces, and information under the same menu as before. If you need help, contact your subject liaison librarian or use the Ask a Librarian feature, located on our website homepage.
Many thanks to the Library’s web developer Steven Orr for his hard work on this update. As the library has its own web systems, keeping them updated along with our hundreds of eResources and databases is quite an undertaking. Our Digital Services team consistently does great work!
