The Special Collections and Research Center Team, in preparation for the 2024 American Library Association Annual Conference, created a poster based on their yearlong exhibitions, Unseen Labor and Words Matter (2023-2024). The poster, titled “Unseen Labor and Words Matter! Making the Invisible Visible in Critical Cataloging,” was presented by the two attending team members, Suzanne López and Julie Moore, on June 30.

The presentation highlighted the often-overlooked efforts involved in cataloging and the importance of language in this field. By focusing on these hidden aspects, the Special Collections and Research Center Team aimed to raise awareness and understanding of the critical work that goes into maintaining and organizing library collections.
