
The Fresno State Library hosts Dr. Kate Manne, renowned philosopher and author, as the featured speaker for the 2025 Womack Lecture on Monday, April 21. The day’s events take place in the Table Mountain Rancheria Reading Room, located on the 3rd floor, north wing of the Fresno State Library. Dr. Manne is an associate professor in the Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University and the acclaimed author of “Down Girl: The Logic of Misogyny,” “Entitled: How Male Privilege Hurts Women,” and “Unshrinking: How to Face Fatphobia.” Her lecture, titled “Ordinary Cruelty: Explaining Misogyny Without Dehumanization,” promises to offer timely insight into the mechanisms of social injustice and the ways they manifest in everyday life.
