Beginning May 4, visitors to the Teacher Resource Center (TRC) on the Library’s 3rd Floor North will be able to enjoy some local K-12 student artwork. The artwork is installed using the professional arakawa hanging gallery system along the Peter P. Peters Ellipse Balcony Gallery wall shared with the TRC. A reception was held for the student artists in the Teacher Resource Center where they enjoyed snacks, hands-on activities, and sharing their artwork with guests.
In an effort to build connections with community groups and K-12 students in the Fresno area, the TRC partnered with Live Again After School Programs and Better Living Art Club. The collaboration Unity within the Community aims to provide children served by Live Again Fresno an opportunity to see themselves and their artwork beyond Parkway Drive, bridging the gap between West Fresno and Fresno State. The collaborative goal is to foster a sense of belonging on a college campus for the students participating in the program.
