This month the Henry Madden Library is turning 10 years old, and we’re marking the occasion with the party of the decade! Students, staff and faculty are invited to enjoy some cake, display their birthday wishes for the Library, grab limited edition anniversary giveaways and more.

Library Anniversary Celebration
  • Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in the Library lobby
  • 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Victor E. Bulldog III will visit Library patrons from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Students will also be invited to participate in a passport activity for a chance to win a Fresno State gift basket. Pick up your passport in the Library lobby and visit at least five departments to be entered for a chance to win.

In addition to the Library’s resources and services, the building is home to several campus organizations and departments that will also be celebrating the occasion by stamping passports, playing games or handing out treats:

More than 12 million people have passed through the doors of the Library since they opened a decade ago making it an integral part of campus life for students, staff and faculty. Its many services and activities have made it a focal point for all who work and study at the University. With exhibitions, guest speakers and activities routinely open to the general public, the Library has reached thousands in the community at large, providing a place for local residents to experience cultural and educational programs free of charge.

Also open this month is the Anniversary Exhibition in the Leon S. Peters Ellipse Gallery. The exhibition features never before seen historic photographs, rare University artifacts and an original art installation created by the Laureate Lab. The exhibition is on display now and open to the public through March 8, 2019.
